Helping the Community Bread Basket and who it serves

-- Contributed

Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Weirton has again come forward to help feed the hungry in the area. “This is the time of year that we know that need increases, and we wanted to do something to help,” said Rich Sherensky, church spokesperson. Jim Pauchnik, CBB board member, picked up the donation and told the group the Community Bread Basket is providing food for more than 200 families per month. He also noted that the need continues to increase monthly. He said help also is needed every Friday morning as those in need come to pick up their monthly food distribution. If a group or an individual would like to help, they may call (304) 748-7595 or come to 3501 West St. in Weirton for information. Retirees who are looking for some way to help in the community could consider helping Community Bread Basket, Pauchnik added.
