The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will be holding its ninth-annual Christmas Day Memorial Dinner in its Hellenic Hall at 300 S. Fourth St., on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The dinner is free of charge, and everyone is welcome. Local carry-outs will be available. "Holy Trinity is blessed and enriched in God's love throughout the year," said Spiro Alexander. "We are given so much, this is our small way of giving back to our community and to say thank you. The dinner is in memory of family and friends who have passed away," Alexander said. "We do this, because Christmas is the most festive day of the year, yet many people and many families in our community can't afford to provide a Christmas meal. For the past eight years, we have served more than 600 meals each year on Christmas Day," he continued. "We know there is a need for this. We do this to reach out to our brothers and sisters in Christ who don't want to be alone and want to share this joyous day with other people. Our doors will be open, and all are welcome for whatever reason someone might want to come," he added. The menu for the day will be a traditional Christmas Day meal consisting of turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, roll, butter, dessert and beverage. Carryouts and limited delivery will be provided. The telephone number is (740) 282-9835. The e-mail is office@holytrinitystb.org. The web site is www.holytrinitystb.org. Members of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Christmas Day Memorial Dinner Committee are, front row, from left, Marlane Furguski, Pete Atsalis, Nick Maragos, Stan Furguski and Spiro Alexander; middle row, Anthony Mougianis, John Scavdis, the Rev. Matthew Moore and Don Kronstein; and back row, Nick Riley and Rikki Kamarados.
