CASA to celebrate 20th
anniversary at Sunday event
FOLLANSBEE -- A Child's Place Court-Appointed Special Advocates will celebrate their 20th anniversary from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Follansbee Community House.
There will be unlimited hot chocolate in a disposable mug for $5 or a commemorative mug handmade by East Wheeling Clayworks for $30.

There also will be games and a drawing for a necklace with an angel pendant. Tickets are $5 each and also may be purchased by calling the above number.
A spokesperson noted everyone is invited to help the nonprofit group celebrate serving hundreds of children involved in abuse and neglect cases in Brooke and Hancock counties since 1999 and more recently, in Jefferson County.
Burgettstown church plans Valentine's Day dinner event
BURGETTSTOWN -- Paris Presbyterian Church, located at 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, will be hosting a Valentine's Day dinner with live jazz music by Winding Road.
The community outreach event begins at 6 p.m. on Feb. 14.
A $10 donation includes a baked chicken dinner with baked potato, vegetable, salad and dessert.Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Feb. 9 by calling (724) 729-3450.
The band will play jazz music during and after the meal.
"We invite everyone -- whether they are single, dating, married or going through heartbreak or loss -- to come out to Paris Presbyterian Church for a night of good food and live music," a church spokesperson noted.
