MLK Memorial Choir

rehearsal to begin Feb. 7

STEUBENVILLE -- The Martin Luther King Memorial Choir, in observance of Black History Month, will begin rehearsals on Feb. 7 at Quinn Memorial A.M.E. church, 515 North St., Steubenville, starting at 6 p.m.

Program Chair Delores Wiggins, minister of music, said participation in the adult and children's choir is open to anyone interested.

The rehearsals are in preparation for the performance at 6 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Quinn EA.M.E., that is open to the public.

Event co-chairs are Juanita Slappy and the Rev. Buena Dudley Paschall, the new pastor at Quinn Memorial A.M.E.

Philoptochos gyro sale Feb. 11

at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox

STEUBENVILLE -- Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos Society will host its sale of gyros from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the church, located at 300 S. Fourth St.

The lamb gyros are $7, and the chicken gyros are $8. There will be a 25 cent charge for extra tzatziki sauce. The kouroulakia (twist cookies) are $6 a dozen.

There is free delivery on orders of four or more gyros. Orders will be accepted the day of the sale by phone to (740) 282-9835 or fax at (740) 282-2091. Allowing a minimum of 20 minutes to process phone or fax orders is asked. Walk-in sales also are welcome.

Wednesday meal, devotions

to bring people 'Together'

WEIRTON -- Beginning Wednesday, Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, located at 121 Ivy Street, will come "Together" for dinner at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The menu is homemade lasagna, tossed salad, Italian bread and assorted cakes for dessert.

All meals include a beverage. The cost is $2 per person or a maximum fee of $10.

The Wednesday night dinners and devotions are open to the public.

If Hancock County Schools are canceled, "Together" dinners also are canceled.
