February events at Mary H. Weir Library

WEIRTON — Several February events at the Mary H. Weir Public Library, 3442 Main St., have been announced by Nikki Jagela, children’s program services specialist.

They include the “Weir” Building Lego Club on Feb. 18 from 6-7:30 PM. It meets the third Tuesday of each month between January and May. Children of all ages are welcome, but those under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. There are no fees and no registration requirements –just come and build, Jagela notes. All builders will receive a free Weir Building logo button.

≤ The library will present “Abominable,” rated PG, on Feb. 22, beginning at 2 p.m. Admission and popcorn are free, and guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and soft drinks, also.

The accessible Walnut Street doors will open at 1:45 p.m. No reservations are necessary.

≤ The library’s “Weir Reading” winter/spring story time program has begun.

WEIR Reading will run 15 weeks from Monday, Feb. 3 through Wednesday, May 13. There are three sessions to choose between each week: Mondays at 11 a.m., Tuesdays at 3 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. The program is intended for 2-5-year-olds, but younger and older siblings and friends are welcome.

All children participating in “Weir Reading Story Times” should have their own library cards. There is no cost for this program, but registration is required. Forms are available on the children’s department desk. Questions can be directed to Jagela at (304) 797-8510.
