Starting Points Food Pantry has new hours
WEIRTON --The Brooke Hancock Starting Points Family Resource Center Community Pantry has new hours of operation.
The pantry is now open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network's office at 1300 Potomac Ave. It provides non-perishable food, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies and items for children and babies to residents of Brooke and Hancock counties.

Genealogy chapter: June program nixed
WINTERSVILLE -- The Jefferson County Genealogy Chapter's plans to sponsor a free program June 28 at the Stratton Municipal Building has been canceled because the venue will not be open.
Katy Zane was to have been the presenter, discussing "How to Archive and Preserve Documents and Photos." The event will be rescheduled at a later date, according to Rena Glover Goss, vice president.
Make reading fun for children with database
STEUBENVILLE -- Make reading fun for children with the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County's TumbleBook Library database.
TumbleBook Library offers animated talking picture books, according to Jennifer Cesta, public relations coordinator. TumbleBook takes existing picture books and add animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book. The resource also offers puzzles, games, chapter books, read alongs, non-fiction and language learning.
Visit the library's website at www.steubenvillelibrary.org, then go to the "e-books" tab and scroll to "TumbleBook." Those in need of a library card can call the main library at (740) 282-9782 to register by phone.
Brooke Library board to meet Friday
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library board of trustees will meet at 1 p.m. Friday in the library's River Room. It is the board's first in-person meeting since February, and plans to reopen the library in phases will be discussed.
