Despite the coronavirus pandemic impacting most every aspect of normal life, committee members involved in the planning of Catholic Central High School Class of 1976's 45-year reunion are forging ahead, taking advantage of the latest technology to conduct their reunion planning meetings virtually.

The first obstacle was making sure that everyone had a Zoom account and knew how to use it properly.

"This was the first time I used Zoom," said Kathy (Arthurs) Coldebella. "I had to have my son set it up for me on my computer," she added.

Second was realizing that people can actually see you on the computer screen so everyone wanted to make sure that they looked okay on the broadcasts.

"I had to be sure that the lighting was right in my room, and I was wearing some decent clothes," commented Diane (Wanchic) McAfee. "I hadn't seen some of these classmates in a very long time." Added Adriana (Pizzoferrato) Flener from Columbus, "The best thing about our Zoom meetings is that they allow us all to participate from several areas of the country."

Assuming that the COVID-19 pandemic is under control by early 2021, the committee already has conducted four Zoom meetings and is planning a full weekend of activities in Steubenville for the reunion celebration set for Sept. 17-19, 2021.
