CADIZ CHAMPS — The final round of the Cadiz Women’s Golf League Championship ended Aug. 12. The champions were, from left, A flight, Janis Cook (167); B flight, Joanne Hardman (178); and C flight, Ellen Barner (207). The play of the day was low net, and the winners were Hardman (59), Billie Stanwick (68) and Janis Cook (69). Hardman and Cook also were the winners for low putts. Sandi Polen had a chip-in on hole No. 15 while Hardman and Cook both had birdies. Next week’s play of the day is low scores on Par 4’s. -- Contributed

Mountaineer Women’s Thursday

Morning Golf League

The Mountaineer Women’s Thursday Morning Golf League has reported the following results for various days of play.

Aug. 6 — Proximity winners are as follows: Closest to the pin hole No. 8, Debbie Provenzano; closest to the pin hole No. 14, Elaine Minda; closest to the pin in two hole No. 17, Mary Ann Bainbridge; and low putts, Erin Ankrum.

July 30 — Proximity winners are as follows: Closest to the pin on hole No. 6 and closest to the pin in two on hole No. 17, Mishal Hawthorne; closest to the pin on hole No. 8, Ginger Greene; closest to the pin on hole No. 14; and low putts. Barb Lovaglio.

July 16: Proximity winners are as follows: Closest to the pin on hole No. 6 and closest in two on hole No. 17, Patty Filak; closest to the pin on hole No. 8 and hole No. 14, Elaine Minda; and low putts, Mary Ann Bainbridge.

Mountaineer Monday Night Women’s League

The Monday Night Nine-Hole League reported Dorothy Baier scoring a hole in one on hole No. 8. This was witnessed by Debbie Provenzano and Joann Loberto.

Red Oaks Ladies League

The women of the Red Oaks Ladies League played the game “Select Drive” on the front nine on Aug. 10.

First- and second-place winners were Neysa McCart and Ruth Lamantia, respectively. Yuko Atwell had the longest drive on hole No. 3 and carded a birdie on hole No. 4. Tammy Cox was closest to the pin on hole No. 6 and had a chip-in on hole No. 2. Brenda McCloskey and Yuko Atwell tied for the low putt prize.

On Aug. 3, the women of the Red Oaks Ladies League played a team event on the back nine holes.

Lori DeFallo and Pat Carey came in first place with Yuko Atwell and Tammy Koutsky coming in second place. Brenda McCloskey won the long drive on hole No. 14. Neysa McCart took the prize for closest to the pin on hole No. 17. Lori DeFallo had the lowest putts for the round and also birdied hole Nos. 10 and 12.

Spring Hills Ladies Golf League

Spring Hills Ladies Golf League played low net low individual on Aug. 13. Winners were:

First-place team, Debbie Phillippi, Kathy Moore, Carmela Wallace and Neysa McCart; second place, Ruth Lamantia, Dru Fleshour, Tammy Cox and Pat Carey.

Individual net winners were: A flight, Yoko Atwell, Debbie Phillippi and Kathy Moore; B flight, Neysa McCart and Mary DiMichele; C flight, Carmela Wallace and Neysa McCart

Long drive: A flight, Cynde Vidas; B flight, Mary DiMichele; and C flight, Carmela Wallace

Closest to the pin: A flight, Kathy Moore; B flight, Mary DiMichele; and C flight, Carmela Wallace.

Lowest putts was Kathy Moore.

Cynde Vidas won the 50-50 drawing.

Spring Hills Ladies Golf League members played Aug. 7.

Winners were:

A flight tie, first, Debbie Phillippi, Ruth Lamantia and Dru Fleshour and Cynde Vidas, Kathy Moore and Joanne Hardman.

B flight, Vickie Grant, Brenda McCloskey and Tammy Koutsky.

C flight, Carmella Wallace, Tammy Cox, Pat Carey and Arlene Owens.

Long drive winners were: A flight, Debbie Phillippi; B flight, Tammy Koutsky; and C flight, Tammy Cox.

Closest to the pin: B flight, Brenda McCloskey and C flight, Carmella Wallace.

Mary Alice Meyer won the 50-50 drawing.

Town and Country

Town and Country Golf had medal play on Aug. 6. Winners were: A flight, Laura Froehlich; B flight, Patty Saccoccia; and C flight, Rose Kaczmarek. Low putts was Wanda Retzer. A chip-in was recorded by Norma Henson on hole No. 9.

Other winners were:

Long drive hole No.3: A flight, Retzer; B flight, Kathy Antinone; and C flight, Nancy Lelli.

Long drive hole No. 6: A flight, Froehlich; B flight, Antinone; and C flight, Kaczmarek.

Closest to the pin hole No. 8: A flight, Signa Findlay; B flight, Pat Zorne; and C flight, Lelli.

Town and Country Golf members played their monthly scramble on July 30. The winning team was Nancy Lelli, Norma Henson, Kathy Antinone and Laura Froehlich with a 36.

Other winners were:

Long drive hole No. 1: A flight, Froehlich; B flight, Antinone; and C flight, Shirley Guida.

Long drive hole No. 5: A flight, Signa Findlay and B flight, Pat Zorne.
