CADIZ WOMEN’S GOLF LEAGUE

The play of the day for the Cadiz Women’s Golf League on Sept. 16 was low score on Par 3’s.

The winners were: A flight, Marilyn Kenny; B flight, Donna Griffin; and C flight, Sandi Polen. In addition, prize money was given for most fairways hit. Carol Patten and Nep Rowland were the winners.

Roberta Cireddu, Nep Rowland, Marilyn Kenny and Tracy Amos had birdies. Marilyn Kenny and Tracy Amos also had chip-ins. Next week will be the last regular scheduled golf day, and the play of the day will be low net threesomes.

The Cadiz Women’s Golf League had a scramble on Sept. 9. Hostesses were Janice Cook and Glenda Sensel.

The winning team members included Lori DeFallo, Marilyn Kenney and Paula Hope. Lori DeFallo and Joanne Hardman had chip-ins on hole No. 11.

After the scramble, there was a brief meeting to discuss the end-of-the-year agenda and closing-day activities. Future hostesses will be Sandy Terek and Patty Stewart.

RED OAKS LADIES GOLF LEAGUE

The women of the Red Oaks Ladies Golf League played the back nine on Sept. 14. The play of the day was “Par Fours.”

Winners of the game were Lori DeFallo, first place; Ruth Lamantia, second place; and Pat Carey, third place. Yuko Atwell won the prize for longest drive on hole No. 14. Tammy Koutsky won the prize for closest to the pin in two shots on hole No. 17. Ruth Lamantia had a chip-in on hole No. 17. Pat Carey and Neysa McCart tied for low putts.

Next Monday play will begin at 4:45 p.m. due to the earlier sunset.

SPRING HILLS LADIES GOLF LEAGUE

Spring Hills Ladies Golf League played the first week of the club championship. Leaders are:

A flight gross, Debbie Phillippi, and A flight net, Yuko Atwell.

B flight gross, Neysa McCart, and B flight net, Brenda McCloskey.

C flight gross, Mary Alice Meyer, and C flight net, Tammy Cox.

Long drive: A flight, Cynde Vidas; B flight, Brenda McCloskey; and C flight, JoAnn Liberto.

Closest to the pin: A flight, Kathi Moore; B flight, Brenda McCloskey; and C flight, Mary Alice Meyer.

No chip-in’s were recorded.

The 50-50 winner was Pat Carey.

Low putts: Tie between Cynde Vidas and Mary Alice Meyer.

Next week will conclude the championship

The end-of-the-year picnic will be held Sept. 24 with a scramble, food and awards.

In charge of the picnic are Pat Carey, Kathi Moore and Carmela Wallace.

Vickie Grant was thanked for being in charge of the two play-away games at Kenningston Country Club in Boardman and Reserve Run in Youngstown.

Closest to the pin: A flight, Cynde Vidas; B flight, Brenda McCloskey.

The 50/50 winner was Brenda McCloskey.

Low putts winner was Mary Alice Myer.

There were no chip-ins.

Thursday will be a scramble followed by awards and a picnic.

Hostess were Vickie Grant and JoAnn Cicone.

TOWN AND COUNTRY

Town and Country Golf played “Throw out Two Worst Holes” on Sept. 10. Winners were: A flight, Signa Findlay; B flight, Pat Zorne; and C flight, Rose Kaczmarek. Low putts was Patty Saccoccia.

Other winners were:

Long drive hole No. 3: A flight, Findlay; B flight, Kathy Antinone; and C flight, Shirley Guida.

Long drive hole No. 7: B flight, Saccoccia; C flight, Nancy Lelli.

Closest to pin hole No. 4: B flight, Antinone; C flight, Kaczmarek.
