STEUBENVILLE — Explore food, travel and culture with new e-resources that have been added to the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County’s website.

The library now has seven new online reference offerings that are free to the public. The new e-resources are purchased from World Trade Press, the Global Knowledge Co. “Each e-resource is easy to use,” said Public Relations Coordinator Jennifer Cesta. “Library customers will have access to travel guides for pre-trip planning, traditional recipes from foreign countries and learning greetings in different languages.

LingoLite helps users learn basic words and phrases in 30 languages using interactive native speaker videos.

AtoZ World Food contains more than 7,000 recipes from 174 countries, along with thousands of ingredient, food culture and reference articles, making it the largest food database of its kind, according to Cesta.

AtoZ Maps Online has more than 100,000 downloadable, royalty-free maps, while AtoZ World Travel includes 202 world city travel guides covering 67 topics each. Topics include pre-trip planning, points of interest, neighborhoods, restaurants, nightlife and health and safety.

Global Road Warrior has country guides for 175 countries worldwide. It’s designed for students doing country reports, travelers and anyone who wants to learn about the world and its diverse cultures, Cesta said.

AtoZ the USA shares information about the people, culture, government, history, geography, indigenous peoples, food and symbols.

AtoZ Food America has more than 2,000 state, regional and ethnic recipes as well as historical and reference articles, including an ingredients section.

A library card is needed to access the online databases.

The library’s new online databases are listed individually on the library’s website at www.steubenvillelibrary.org.

Go to the “e-resources” tab on the front page then scroll to “databases.”
