CADIZ WOMEN'S GOLF LEAGUE
The Cadiz Women's Golf League held their closing day scramble, dinner and business meeting on Wednesday.
The winning scramble team included Lori DeFallo, Donna Griffin, Kathy Jackson and Carole Patton. The second-place team included Janis Cook, Glenda Sensel and Marsha Porter.
The skill winners were Karen Sims, closest to the pin; Kim Ochsenbine, closest to the line; Bonnie Beethem, closest to the flamingo; Kathy Newburn, closest to the pin, second shot; and Lori DeFallo, longest drive.
In addition, prizes were handed out for league champions, members with the most eagles, birdies, chip-ins and lowest ringer board scores in each flight.
Kathy Smith received the prize for most improved golfer this season.
After a barbecue rib dinner, a brief business meeting was held as well as the election of officers and appointment of committee chairmen. For the 2021 season the officers will be Brenda Hartley, chairman; Donna Griffin, co-chairman; Denise Augustine, secretary; and Glenda Sensel, treasurer. Committee chairmen include Kathy Newburn and Kathy Jackson, decorations; Donna Griffin, publicity; Brenda Hartley and Judy Crawshaw, locker room; Kathy Smith, ringer board and birdie tree; and Billie Stanwick and Millie Romshak, rules, handicap and club championship.
Red Oaks Golf League
The women of the Red Oaks Golf League played the last Monday event of the season at Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg on Sept. 28.
The play of the day was low gross. The winners of the game were Lori DeFallo, first place; Yuko Atwell, second place; and Denise Augustine, third place.
The skill prize of closest to the pin on hole No. 5 was earned by Brenda McCLoskey. The skill prize of long drive on hole No. 6 was earned by Ruth Lamantia. Carmela Wallace had the lowest putts for the round.
Town and Country
Town and Country Golf participants played their last scramble of the year on Sept. 24. The winning team was Laura Froehlich, Norma Henson and Nancy Lelli.
Other winners were:
Long drive hole No. 1: A flight, Froehlich; B flight, Pat Zorne; and C flight, Rose Kaczmarek.
Long drive No. 6: B flight, Patty Saccoccia and C flight, Kaczmarek.
