ADK Fidelis Gamma Chapter hosts Ohio Valley District fall meeting in Follansbee

FOLLANSBEE — The West Virginia Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Teacher’s Sorority hosted the Ohio Valley District fall meeting on Oct. 31 at Follansbee Park.

Members attended from seven chapters — Epsilon, Iota, Pi, Alpha Kappa, Alpha Tau, Lambda and Fidelis Gamma. West Virginia Alpha Delta Kappa state President Pat Hardin, immediate past President Diane Stilwell, President-elect Michele DeCarlo, Ohio Valley District Chairman Nancy Fullerton, Ohio Valley District Vice Chairman Marguerite Harbison, Ohio Valley Secretary Lee Ann Puckett, Ohio Valley Treasurer Carol Bauer and Fidelis Gamma Chapter President Diane Higgins were in attendance.

Member Shirley DeLuca was recognized as a “First Timer.”

The room was decorated with mums and fall leaves following the autumn theme. Members wore masks and observed social distancing.

Fidelis Gamma chapter members presented a Founder’s Day skit. The cast of characters included Carolyn Allison, Ruth Fuller, Diane Higgins and Bonnie Queses.

Lunch and the meeting followed with door prizes presented.

Following the district meeting, Higgins called a meeting to order for Fidelis Gamma sisters. Each member received a yearbook containing information, dates and reminders. Discussion followed. Appointments were made assigning DeLuca and Susan Cullinan to altruistic; Ruth Fuller to publicity; and Janet Benzo to the scholarship committee.

Discussion was held on meeting areas, volunteer hours and member illnesses. Nancy Conley volunteered to locate a place for the next meeting, which will be announced.
