Takeout fundraiser dinner Sunday at Richmond UMC
RICHMOND -- Friends and family of a 30-year-old local man injured in a recent ATV accident are hosting a benefit dinner to help with medical expenses.
A takeout-only dinner will be held Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Richmond United Methodist Church, located at 112 S. Sugar St., Richmond.
"This will be a takeout-only event where patrons will not get out of their car. We will bring the food to you," notes a Facebook page devoted to the fundraiser.
Dinners will be by donation only. A recommended $10 donation will provide smoked pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw and a roll.
For those unable to attend but interested in donating, a GoFundMe page has been created at https://www.gofundme.com/f/strength-and-support-for-tony.
"Recently, Tony Porco was involved in an accident while riding his four-wheeler," the Facebook post notes. "He's currently in the ICU at UPMC Presbyterian dealing with many injuries, including brain bleeding/swelling and facial fractures among other injuries. He's facing a lengthy hospital stay along with a long road to recovery. As we all know, hospital bills can add up in a hurry. Tony is a great guy and you couldn't ask for a better friend. Anybody who knows Tony has multiple good stories to tell. He's always there to help out his friends whenever we need it. Now it's our turn to help him and right now he needs our support more than ever. This page is being set up with support from all of his friends, and we're asking for donations to help Tony recover."
