Take a virtual tour of Ohio
castles via library program
STEUBENVILLE -- Take a virtual tour of Ohio castles through the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County with the library's reference assistant Juli Paquette.
The virtual program is available on the library's YouTube channel, PLSJ. "If you think castles only exist in far away places, think again," notes Jennifer Cesta, the library's public relations coordinator. "After watching this video, you'll be ready to pack the car for a road trip or two."

Adults: Cozy Mystery book club will meet for discussion on Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. Registration is required by calling the library. This month, the group will discuss the book "Assaulted Caramel" by Amanda Flower.
Children: Story Hour, for parents or caregivers with children ages 2-6, will be held Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. Children will listen to stories, songs and rhymes. Spacing is limited, and registration is required.

Four Seasons Ministry to host food, craft, yard sale Saturday
STEUBENVILLE -- Four Seasons Ministry, located in the old Pleasant Hill Elementary School at 129 School St. off state Route 213, will host a festival food carryout sale, craft sale and yard sale.
It will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Food will include noodles, meatball sandwich and ribeye steak sandwich.

Toys being collected for
Christmas distribution
TORONTO -- New and gently used toys to distribute to boys and girls in Toronto to make their Christmas brighter continue to be accepted at Crossroads -- North River Campus, 207 N. River Ave. in Toronto.
Toys are being accepted for ages newborn to 13. School-aged children are required to attend Toronto City Schools. Children who are not old enough to attend school yet are required to live in Toronto.
Toys can be dropped off at Crossroads -- North River Campus and any participating businesses and churches in Toronto.
Monetary donations can be sent to P.O. Box 364, Toronto, OH 43964 with checks made out to Toys 4 Toronto.
For information, call (740) 537-3285, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There were 144 families helped last year.
Distribution days will be Dec. 11 and 12 at the church.
Camera club announces
October competition winners
WINTERSVILLE -- The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club has announced October competition winners to the theme "Flowers."
The theme category winners were: First place, Becky Mihopulos; second place, Barb Momyer; and third place, John Hanish. The open category winners were: First place, Wes Penn; second place, Anissa Wellington; and third place, Dave Rees.
The special effects category winners were: First place, Anissa Wellington; second place, Becky Mihopulos; and third place, Melanie Michalos.

Local historian to offer
program on DNA project
WELLSBURG -- Local historian Michael Traubert will deliver a virtual presentation on The Mayflower Project, a DNA project celebrating the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower.
The program will be held Tuesday, beginning at noon.
Traubert also will discuss steps he's taken in his own genealogical quest.
