St. Thomas Episcopal Church having soup, sandwich sale

WEIRTON — St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located on Three Springs Drive in Weirton, is having a takeout-only soup and sandwich sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Bean and ham, potato and wedding soup will be for sale. Quarts are $8, and pints are $4.

Sandwiches are sloppy joes and ham barbecue for $4 each. Pumpkin, apple and peach pies will be sold whole or by the slice.

This is a takeout only sale. Pre-orders can call the church to place an order at (304) 723-4120 and leave a message. The number was incorrect on the Nov. 11 community page.

Orders also can be called in on Thursday through Saturday.

Brooke County Libraries offer Book an Adventure packets

In observance of West Virginia Family Read Week, Brooke County Libraries is offering Book an Adventure packets, which include activities families can do while collecting stamps for a Reading Takes You Places passport.

The activities are designed to promote learning and family bonding and can be done at families’ convenience.

The libraries also are offering a packet with materials for a paper turkey craft that requires glue only.

Dec. 12 Christmas bazaar

BRILLIANT –The Brilliant United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas bazaar on Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The church is located at 525 LaBelle St., Brilliant.

Cookies, nutrolls, fudge and crafts will be available.

Social distancing will be observed, and masks are required.

WEIRTON — The First United Methodist Church in Weirton is holding a Christmas pie sale with delivery on Dec. 19

Crocheting class is being offered Wednesday at Brooke Library

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will host a crochet class for adults, beginners through experts, at noon on Wednesday
