Virtual story hours offered through Brooke County Library

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will present live virtual story hours at noon Jan. 11 and 25, at 11 a.m. Jan. 11 and 20 and at 5 p.m.Jan. 13.

Kim Harless, the library’s director of educational programs, will read “Snowflake Bentley” and instruct viewers in making a craft through Zoom.

The library and its Follansbee branch also are offering materials for other winter-themed crafts and coloring packets, which can be obtained the same way.

Follansbee club cancels meeting

FOLLANSBEE — The GFWC Follansbee 20th Century Club has canceled its meeting that was scheduled for Jan. 8, announces Meredith Merriner, public relations officer for the organization.

Dial-a-Story service detailed

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library is offering an easy way for people of all ages to hear stories, poetry and jokes at no cost and with no Internet required. Librarians and guest readers can be heard sharing material for all ages 24 hours a day by dialing (800) 581-5119.
