Brooke County Public Library has added a mobile app
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library and its Follansbee branch have added the LibraryAnywhere mobile app with which users can access information about it, including its catalog of materials, as well as renew books and other checked out items.
Library Director Alex Schneider said the app comes through the library's membership in the West Virginia Library Network, a consortium of libraries formed with the merging of the Northern West Virginia Library Network and Mountain Library Network.
She said in addition to providing the nearest member library, its locations and hours, the app can be used to send e-mails to the library, place holds on books and other materials, and with some devices, determine if a book is available through the library by scanning the barcode on its cover.
They also can receive recommendations for other materials and information about other editions.
A tutorial for the app can be found on Youtube at LibraryAnywhere.
It can be downloaded free at GooglePlay or AppStore and will work on any phone with browsing capabilities by visiting http://www.libanywhere.com/la/312/
The library's traditional online catalog can be found via: https://mlnapp.raleigh.lib.wv.us/
