Weirton Kiwanis auction continues through Wednesday

WEIRTON — The Weirton Kiwanis Club is continuing to accept bids for items as part of its John B. Sorrenti Sr. annual auction, which this year is a Facebook auction. Bidding continues through noon on Wednesday.

To see items available and to place bids, search the event on Facebook titled Weirton Kiwanis Club Facebook Auction or visit www.facebook.com/weirtonkiwanis. Each item available for bidding will be listed in the photo album on the event page.

Bidding takes place by making a bid for each item under the specific item picture. The bidding starts at half the value of each item and increases by one dollar. When the auction concludes at noon on Wednesday, the highest bid made under each picture will be the winning bidder.

The highest bidders will be announced on the event page on Friday. Winning bidders will be responsible for paying for and picking up their winning item May 3 at the Holiday Inn in Weirton from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Payment will be received for the amount bid in the form of cash or a check made payable to Weirton Kiwanis Club.

Among items up for auction are a Pioneer Woman basket of kitchen items; a basket of Americana items; $100 U.S. Savings Bonds; Homer Laughlin china; 6-foot columns; gift cards and certificates for La Cucina Italian Grill, Dee Jay’s, Tudor’s Restaurant, Giovanni’s Restaurant, Applebee’s, Gus’s Goodies and Mario’s Restaurant; an overnight stay at Mountaineer Casino and Racetrack Resort at the Grand Hotel and a $20 food voucher; an overnight stay for two at the Holiday Inn in Weirton; a pair of Ray Ban 8316 gun metal men’s sunglasses; adult passes for the Millsop Community Center; a 40-inch Smart Roku TV; and a one-month bus pass with Weirton Transit Corp.
