Drive-through Easter event for children is at Richmond UMC

RICHMOND -- The Richmond United Methodist Church outreach committee will be hosting a drive-through Easter goodie bag giveaway in the church parking lot while supplies last.

Children must be present with an adult for the Saturday giveaway from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The event for community children is being held in the parking lot of the church at 112 S. Sugar St. Participants are asked to enter the lot off Sugar Street and exit onto Legion Street. One-way traffic will be established for the event.

Location change again for Easter egg hunt in Mingo

MINGO JUNCTION -- The John "Wiz" Fabian Memorial Easter egg hunt in Mingo Junction has again changed the location of the event to be at Aracoma Park in Mingo Junction.

Co-sponsored by Scott Fabian and the Mingo Knights of Columbus Council 4361, the event will be held at noon on Saturday at the park.

In the event of rain, it will be moved indoors to the Mingo Knights of Columbus Hall at 117 Legion Drive.

It is for children from ages 0 to 12 and will be limited to 70 children. The Easter Bunny will be attending. Pre-registration is required, and COVID-19 safety restrictions will be in place.

To register, leave a name, the kids' ages and how many are in the group. The information can be provided to Scott Fabian at (740) 284-0751.

Egg hunt at Bloomingdale Park

BLOOMINGDALE -- The Bloomingdale Make A Difference Committee has announced that there will be an Easter egg hunt beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Bloomingdale Park.

It will include the egg hunt and cookies with the Easter bunny.

Two Ridges having Thursday service

WINTERSVILLE -- Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, will hold a Maundy Thursday service today, beginning at 7 p.m.

The sermon topic will be "Hands That Betray."

Easter egg hunt in Wellsburg Saturday

WELLSBURG -- The Wellsburg Applefest Committee will hold an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Park near 17th Street.

The park will be divided into five areas for age 3 and under, 4-6, 7-9 and 10 and older and children with special needs. There also will be a visit by the Easter Bunny and music.

Sunrise service in Hopedale Sunday

HOPEDALE -- The Hopedale United Methodist, Presbyterian and Sacred Heart Catholic churches are inviting the community to join them in their combined Easter sunrise services, to be held this year at Hopedale United Methodist Church, located at 237 Church St.

Services begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday and will be followed by breakfast in the basement social room.

Library offering grab-and-go bags

WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library is offering a variety of grab-and-go activity bags this month.

They include a piggy bank you can paint, Earth Day flower planting kit, frog doorknob hanger, a paper butterfly wreath and sweet treat magnets that can be colored by young adults and adults.

'Wonder Woman 1984' on April 8

WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library will show the PG-13 rated film "Wonder Woman 1984" at 5 p.m. April 8.

Junk in the Trunk participants sought

CADIZ -- The Harrison County Visitors Center is looking for Junk in the Trunk participants for its event scheduled for April 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sally Buffalo Park in Cadiz.

The setup fee is $10 per space, meaning space for one vehicle (nothing larger than a pickup) and one table. To reserve a spot by April 12, call (740) 942-1102.

Fishing rodeo for children April 17

WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Sportsmen's Club's annual fishing rodeo for children will return on April 17.

Trophies will go to the three boys and three girls who catch the largest fish.

There will be drawings for prizes ranging from baits to complete tackle sets.
