Cross Creek Tomahwaks

The Cross Creek Tomahawks met April 8 at the School of Bright Promise. Gabby Bodo led the meeting.

Remaining project books were passed out, and the skillathon was discussed. Applications for junior fairboard were distributed to those who qualify. Members were advised of the April 29 deadline to change or drop projects.

Community service projects also were discussed. The club was advised that the Special Olympics and dinner for local athletes were again canceled this year.

The club was contacted by a local nursing home about doing landscape cleaning or planting flowers or tomatoes for the residents. It was decided not to take this on as a project.

After thew club meeting adjourned, members cleanup at the School of Bridge Promise and trail.

Karen Hill serves as adviser of the club that will hold its next meeting at 2 p.m. on May 16 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
