Chrisagis Brothers bring Hollywood here
Music, faith, hope part of July 31 event at Buckeye Local
CONNORVILLE — Three legendary stars in television and movie history during the 1970s and ’80s — Loni Anderson, Erik Estrada and Lindsay Wagner — will be making a local appearance on July 31 in the auditorium at Buckeye Local High School as part of the Chrisagis Brothers’ 12th musical CD release titled “Let Heaven Overflow.”
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the Celebration with the Stars event at the school located in rural Rayland on state Route 150 with photo ops and merchandise sales starting at 5:30 p.m. The concert gets under way at 6 p.m., with questions and answers for the stars to be part of the concert activities, according to the Chrisagis Brothers, Yorkville natives Brian and Shawn, who have been in Christian ministry for more than 40 years. Tickets are $25 and available by calling (740) 859-2344.
The Chrisagis Brothers will be presenting the trio with the Legacy Award “for their incredible careers, family-friendly work and for making an impact for good.” All three stars will speak on overcoming the odds through their strong faith and the strength they found in it.
“The three iconic stars and beautiful people we are thrilled to have with us are bombshell Loni Anderson (‘WKRP in Cincinnati’), hunk Erik Estrada (‘CHiPs’) and Lindsay Wagner (‘The Bionic Woman’),” they noted in a press release.
“All three have the greatest legacy and are treasures of great entertainment that brought families together and made the world a happier and healthier place with great role models to cherish for a lifetime,” they noted.
Anderson is known for her role as receptionist Jennifer Marlowe in “WKRP in Cincinnati,” which earned her three Golden Globe awards and two Emmy Award nominations. She has been a successful actress in television and films and also is “an amazing comedian who starred in TV shows like ‘Easy Street,’ ‘Partners in Crime’ with Lynda Carter and ‘Nurses.’ Loni penned her autobiography and has become a role model to women who have gone through scandals, divorce, heartbreak and became stronger by embracing her faith in the Lord,” the news release notes. She became a spokesperson for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease after witnessing the effects of it herself and also speaks about Multiple Sclerosis.
Estrada, star of TV’s “C.H.i.P.’s’ as Officer Francis Llewelyn “Ponch” Poncherello and from films like “The Cross and the Switchblade,” “Finding Faith,” “The Last Riders” and “Honeyboy,” broke new ground for Latino actors and “will forever be one of the pioneers to get the respect of Hollywood for ethnic actors. Erik received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is giving back to his fans by becoming a real life police officer,” the release notes. He was sworn in as a reserve police officer in St. Anthony, Idaho, with a focus on protecting children from online predators. “Erik is still working hard on bringing quality Christian family movies to the screen.”
As the star of TV’s “The Bionic Woman, in which she portrayed action character Jaime Sommers,” Wagner was known as the first female super hero to get a TV series. She is a Primetime Emmy winner and won the award from TV Land as the Greatest Gadget Award. She, too, has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. “Wagner became one of TV’s most sought after actresses known as the Movie Queen. She changed laws with her movies and created platforms for issues like domestic abuse, child abuse, anti-semitism and racism,” the release notes, which adds, that she “inspires the world with her off-screen quest for healthy living. Her fight against violence and her positive workshops of hope, love and peace called Quiet the Mind, Open the Heart.”
Three years ago the Chrisagis Brothers lost their youtube account with 500 videos when it was hacked by someone against the message of Jesus for Hollywood, according to the release, which describes the July 31 event as “a Comic Con with a message of hope. In a world of hate, uncertainties, rumors and political madness the brothers message is clear — love is the answer for the world and that type of love is Jesus.”
