Mission's Back-to-School Bash

in-person event on Aug. 12

STEUBENVILLE -- Urban Mission Ministries will be bringing back its annual Back-to-School Bash as an in-person event this year and is preparing to distribute 700 backpacks filled with school supplies for students in grades kindergarten through 12.

This year's bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 12 in the Seventh Street Plaza parking lot.

According to the July newsletter, the mission notes there are multiple ways to get involved and make the bash a success as it seeks individual supporters as well as churches and organizations that might want to purchase backpacks or school supplies or provide a monetary donation for the mission to purchase them instead.

Churches, organizations, agencies and businesses are invited to set up a table at the bash as a reminder to area children and their parents of the many resources available to them throughout the community.

Volunteers interested in helping with the bash, either distributing backpacks or in setting up or tearing down the event, can call (740) 282-8010.
