UFOs and strange creatures of the Ohio Valley topics at Puskarich Public Library
CADIZ -- If you're fascinated with UFO sightings, Bigfoot, Mothman and other unearthly phenomenon, don't miss the return of local researchers Fred Sagula and Brian Seech to the Puskarich Public Library on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. to discuss strange happenings and sightings in the area along with other eerie legends and encounters.
So reads the announcement in the August/September newsletter issue for the Harrison County library system with locations in Cadiz, Freeport and Scio.
"You are encouraged to share stories of your creepy and unexplained experiences," the newsletter notes.
Sagula is the director of the Fayette County Bigfoot Research Project and director of West Virginia Mutual UFO network MUFON, an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable corporation and the world's oldest and largest civilian UFO investigation and research organization.
Seech is the co-founder of the Center of Unexplained Events and the co-founder of the Center for Cryptozoological Studies.
A "Big" extravaganza at the library will fall on a Saturday in October.
Ohio Bigfoot investigator Marc DeWerth will be at the Puskarich Public Library on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. for his presentation on the legendary Bigfoot.
DeWerth, the Ohio curator of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, will share compelling audio recordings, evidence and stories of these elusive creatures, according to the newsletter announcement.
"Find out the most up-to-date sightings along with local sightings and investigations in Harrison County."
The program is for all age.
Earlier that day, DeWerth will give another presentation, this one on Big Trees Ohio.
DeWerth is the founder of that volunteer group that has discovered more than 1,000 of the state's largest trees, some of which are national champions.
He'll give a slideshow presentation at 1 p.m. on Oct. 9 and take a look at the magnificent trees in Ohio, including in Harrison County, one of which measures 24 feet, 10 inches in circumference.
