The 77th McKnight Family reunion was held on July 18 at Austin Lake with attendees "happy to be back at our original shelter, Big Fish."
"With a year like 2020, the family was pleased to have a turnout of more than 50 people, including guests. Relatives from Florida, Kansas and Pennsylvania attended and Marcella McKnight remains our matriarch at 89 years old," a spokesperson reported.
Shirley Riggleman led the group in prayer before the potluck lunch that featured new and traditional meals. Following dinner, this year's events included a live family-tree sketch, card games and a budget meeting. Linda Clifton won the 50-50 drawing, and Ashley Cruz Latham won the door prize.
"With the uncertainty the past year brought, it was enjoyable to see so many relatives, young and old, conversing and carrying on tradition," the spokesperson added.
Next year's reunion will be held in the same shelter on July 17.
