Tommy Charnie has selected a fundraiser benefiting the Community Bread Basket in Weirton as his Brooke High School Honors Senior project. The fundraiser involves a drawing featuring five baskets of items, all valued at $600 or more. The winner will select their choice of baskets in progression of first winner to fifth winner. Tickets are available by contacting Charnie at (304) 919-3243.Tickets are $5 each or 25 tickets for a donation of $100. The drawing will be conducted Nov. 16. Tara Sheperd, program administrator for Community Bread Basket, has said the charity has many needs, none the least of which is a new roof for the building. "We need the roof to continue providing services to those in need," Sheperd said. "This is a great fundraiser as it is a dollar-for- dollar match, up to $5,000 by the Greek Catholic Union and will be very helpful to feed those in need this winter," commented Jim Pauchnik, Community Bread Basket board member.
