Alpha Tau Chapter eyes program ideas for Dec. 4 tri-chapter brunch

NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Alpha Tau Chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators, held its November meeting at the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland.

President Diane Bowers called the meeting to order. The "Thought for the Day" was a reading from "Walking in Grace," given by Chaplain Kathy Griffith.

Roll call was taken by Velda Icard, secretary, and minutes of the October meeting were approved as distributed. Treasurer Fran Jones gave the financial report. Committee reports were given.

Four members attended the Ohio Valley District meeting, which was held at the Froehlich's Classic Corner in Steubenville. Those attending were Amy Hannahs, Velda Icard, Kathy Griffith and Fran Jones.

The group discussed program ideas for the upcoming tri-chapter Christmas brunch. Members participated in a Hancock Country trivia game. The group also packaged Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child as part of its altruistic and world understanding projects.

The tri-chapter meeting with Alpha Kappa and Fidelis chapters will be held on Dec. 4 at Froehlich's Classic Corner.
