Weirton Senior Center offers presentation on Medicare
WEIRTON -- The Weirton Senior Center, 3425 Main St., will host a presentation on Medicare on Friday, beginning at 9:30 a.m, according to Tammy Margetic, center director.
After the presentation, which is open to the public, a one-on-one talk with anyone interested will be offered. Questions can be directed to Margetic at (304) 748-3490.
Spaghetti dinner fundraiser
Saturday at Sugar Grove UMC
TORONTO -- A spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction fundraiser will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, located at 159 township Road 68, Toronto.
Friends and family of Bonnie Rawson Delo are holding the event to raise money for her pancreatic cancer treatment.
The cost is $12 per adult and $5 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and younger eat for free. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at https://bit.ly/3ENtpp0. Tickets will be available at the door, too. Patrons can dine in or get takeout.
Wellsburg church offering
free soup on Thursday
WELLSBURG -- Community of Christ Church, at 26th Street, will again offer free soup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Members of the church will have containers of a variety of soup available for pickup outside the church, while the supply lasts, in a continuation of an outreach that began during the pandemic.
Railroaders invited to attend
breakfast meeting Thursday
CHESTER -- All railroaders are invited to attend a breakfast meeting at E.J.'s Restaurant, located at 807 Carolina Ave., set for Thursday.
All retired and current railroaders and crafts are welcome to attend the get-togethers that are held on the third Thursday of the month at 11 a.m. at E.J.'s.

community blood drive Nov. 24
TORONTO -- Crossroads -- North River Campus is hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the sanctuary at 207 N. River Ave. in Toronto.

Irondale VFD holiday craft, vendor show set for Nov. 27
HAMMONDSVILLE -- The Irondale Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a holiday craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Saline Township Complex, located at 164 county Road 50, Hammondsville.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the second-annual department food drive. Admission is free to the event that will feature a variety of local vendors and artisans selling home decor, apparel, jewelry, hand-painted signs, wreaths, wooden craft items, baked goods and more. There will be a Chinese auction, a 50-50 drawing and food available for purchase. There will be a drop-off area for canned food donations for the food pantry.
