SHS Class of 1959 is having
luncheon meeting Wednesday
STEUBENVILLE -- Alumni of Steubenville High School's Class of 1959 met in November with 20 in attendance. Norina Eroshevich provided the blessing before lunch and was thanked for scheduling the luncheons.
Pete Barren was thanked for keeping the group updated on activities at the high school and classmate news. Barren and Donna Snyder discussed the expansion of the STEM program and construction of the new ballfield and how both will benefit the students and community.
The next luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Froehlich's Classic Corner in Steubenville. Contact Norina at (740) 219-2234 or Donna at (740) 314-5248 for reservations. All are welcome.
Friday final date to pick up
church's food sale items
WEIRTON -- Friday will be the final date to pick up orders for the frozen food sale sponsored by members of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Weirton.
The pierogis are sold out, but a limited number of bags of six cabbage rolls for $20 remain available. To place orders, call (304) 479-0196.
Pick-up will be from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. or 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Hall, 604 Colliers Way, across from Weirton Medical Center. Church members expressed appreciation for support shown for the fundraiser.
St. Agnes CWC holds Christmas and appreciation dinner
MINGO JUNCTION -- The St. Agnes Catholic Women's Club Christmas and appreciation dinner was held Dec. 8 in the church hall.
Dinner was served by Josephine's, named after Josephine Potenzini, a longtime member of St. Agnes Parish and its CWC and cook for many church functions. The Rev. James Dunfee began with a prayer for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and then led the grace for dinner.
President Pat Cramblett recognized and thanked Clara Sue Milewsky for her faithful service as secretary for the CWC for 15 years. She thanked all the women who have helped with the pumpkin rolls and attend meetings.
Table decorations, a holiday mug with an elf in it, were won by Jeannette Panebianco, JoAnn Raha, Vicki Bish and Jeannette Yanssens.
Raha volunteered to assist Dorothy Mazik as hostess for the next meeting, which will be held Jan. 18.
Soup give-away on Thursday
WELLSBURG -- Members of Community of Christ Church at 84 26th Street will be offering free quarts of soup to go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., while the supply lasts, on Thursday.
