The Geneva College Choir the Genevans will perform a sacred choral program entitled "The Word Became Flesh and Dwelt Among Us" on March 5 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Steubenville during its tour of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the church located at 415 Adams St., Steubenville. In anticipation of its quadrennial international tour to Israel in May, the Genevans will perform songs themed around John 1:14 and the incarnation of Christ. The concert is open to the public and free, although a love offering to be taken during the offertory. During intermission, concert-goers will enjoy performances by the Grace Notes, a women's ensemble, and the Eight Bells, a double barbershop quartet. The Genevans choir exists to glorify God and minister to people through the gift of music, according to a news release. Formed in 1938, the choir continues a rich heritage of choral singing dating from the founding of Geneva College. "While engaging audiences with important spiritual truth, The Genevans have acquired a reputation for choral excellence, musical variety and emotional impact," the release notes.
