Calvary Church in Steubenville
hosting special services
STEUBENVILLE -- Calvary Church in Steubenville, located at 255 N. Fifth St., will be hosting special services at the church, beginning Saturday, with Evangelist Warren Finney.
Finney will be the guest evangelist for services on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday at noon; Tuesday at 7 p.m.; and Wednesday at 7 p.m. The theme is "Renew, Revive, Rekindle."
Originally from Arkansas where he served as senior pastor of a Pentecostal Church for 18 years. Finney now travels all across the country as a full-time evangelist. Most recently he has ministered in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky and West Virginia.
"Finney is an accomplished musician, songwriter and a great Southern Gospel singer as well as a tremendous preacher," noted the Rev. John Kotsanos, Calvary's pastor. "Through the dynamic and anointed ministry of Finney, he has witnessed tremendous miracles as well as several well documented healings."
Finney has conducted evangelist crusades, revival meetings, concerts, banquets and camp meetings. He also is the founder and CEO of an innovative ministry called Open Skies Ministries where he holds outdoor camp meetings.

Orders for Smithfield veterans
banners are being accepted
SMITHFIELD -- Main Street in Smithfield is hoped to sport banners honoring hometown veterans now that a campaign has been launched by the Smithfield Beautification Committee to promote orders for them.
The cost of each banner and the hardware to hang it is $120 and must be ordered with payment at Mizer Printing in Cadiz. If desired, a picture of the veteran, can be used and must be presented to the company the day of the order. A copy of the picture will be made and returned at the time of the ordering.
Information to be placed on the banner includes the name of veteran, placed at the top of the banner; a picture in the center of the banner; two to three lines of print under the picture that can include the branch of service, what war such as World War I, World War II, Korean, etc.; and the date of service, such as 1941-1945.
The order deadline for the 2022 display is April 15. Patrons can take the information and payment to Mizers Printing, 160 Cunningham Ave., Suite 3, Cadiz, OH 43907, at any time until the deadline date.
The beautification committee will pick up the completed banners and arrange to hang them for Memorial Day. Application forms can be obtained by contacting Linda Kovach at (740) 733-8831 or Judie Philippi at (740) 733-8484.

WEIRTON -- The Weir High School Class of 1967 will be meeting on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Nana's, which is located at 390 American Way, Weirton.
All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend.
Extension to host Women
in Agriculture Conference
STEUBENVILLE -- Ohio State University Extension will host the seventh-annual East Ohio Women in Agriculture Conference.
It will be held March 25 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum, 3266 Dyewood Road SW, Carrollton. All women and young women (high school age) who are interested, involved in or want to become involved with food, agricultural or natural resources production or small business are encouraged to attend.
The conference program features a networking fair and 16 breakout sessions presented by OSU Extension educators, producers and partner agencies. Sessions this year are focused around four themes: Natural resources, plants and animals, home and family and special interest, which includes break-out with Ohio Future Farmers of America state officers. The conference keynote will be led by Bridget Britton, OSU Extension behavioral health field specialist. She and her team will lead participants through "Stoic or Stressed? Talking Through Difficult Topics in a Safe Space."

Geneva College Choir to
perform March 5 at St. Paul's
STEUBENVILLE -- The Geneva College Choir the Genevans will perform a sacred choral program entitled "The Word Became Flesh and Dwelt Among Us" on March 5 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Steubenville during its tour of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the church located at 415 Adams St., Steubenville. In anticipation of its quadrennial international tour to Israel in May, the Genevans will perform songs themed around John 1:14 and the incarnation of Christ. The concert is open to the public and free, although a love offering to be taken during the offertory.
During intermission, concert-goers will enjoy performances by the Grace Notes, a women's ensemble, and the Eight Bells, a double barbershop quartet.
The Genevans choir exists to glorify God and minister to people through the gift of music, according to a news release. Formed in 1938, the choir continues a rich heritage of choral singing dating from the founding of Geneva College.
"While engaging audiences with important spiritual truth, The Genevans have acquired a reputation for choral excellence, musical variety and emotional impact," the release notes.
