Pancake and sausage dinner
fundraiser in Unionport
UNIONPORT -- The Unionport Masonic Lodge, located at county Road 39, Unionport, will host a fundraiser pancake and sausage dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 26.
The dinner includes choice of regular or buckwheat pancake, sausage, cake, ice cream and a drink. Cost is by donation, and carryout is available.
Agape Church having Friday
dinners during February
STEUBENVILLE -- The Agape Assembly Church at 525 Slack St., Steubenville, will be hosting a pick-up-only fundraiser dinner every Friday in February from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The dates would be Friday, Feb. 11, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. The spaghetti dinner includes bread and dessert for a $12 donation. There is no dining in available and limited delivery if able.

'Souper Bowl' soup, sandwich sale pre-orders due Saturday
TILTONSVILLE -- Tiltonsville United Methodist Church at 106 Grandview Ave., Tiltonsville, is hosting a "Souper Bowl" soup and sandwich sale on Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. until sold out.
There will be homemade chicken noodle soup available for $7 a quart and sausage sandwiches for $6 with peppers and onions in homemade sauce.
Sausage, onions, peppers and sauce are in a separate container from the bun and cheese. "You can buy extra to heat and eat while you watch the game on (Super Bowl) Sunday, and they won't be soggy," a spokesperson noted.

Baked goods will be available, too.
Patrons can stop in for pick-up or get delivery to Yorkville, Tiltonsville and Rayland.
East Springfield VFD Auxiliary having soup dinner fundraiser
EAST SPRINGFIELD -- The East Springfield Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be hosting a soup dinner fundraiser.
It will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the fire hall, which is located at 9854 county Road 39, Bloomingdale, OH 43910 for GPS purposes. It is next to the East Springfield Community Center.
The dinner features the choice of stuffed pepper soup or broccoli cheddar soup, cornbread or a grilled cheese sandwich, dessert and a drink. The cost is $8, and patrons can dine in or get takeout. To place an order for a delivery, call (740) 543-3563.
Flea market, breakfast at Hopedale Fire Department
HOPEDALE -- Hopedale Fire Department and EMS will host a flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the social hall.
A pancake breakfast featuring two pancakes, sausage and a drink for $5 starts at 9 a.m.
There will be a lunch stand throughout the day offering hot dogs, sloppy joes, coney dogs and baked goods. For information, call (740) 937-2333.
Agency taking nominations for Teacher of the Year awards
CHARLESTON -- A West Virginia agency is taking nominations for its Teacher of the Year awards, given for environmental leadership.
The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 14 for the Make It Shine Environmental Teacher of the Year awards. The awards are given by the state Department of Environmental Protection's Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan. Elementary, middle and high school teachers will be given a $500 person award and a $1,000 award to be used to promote science, technology, engineering and math programs at their schools. Valentine's dinner concert
Feb. 11 at Burgettstown church
BURGETTSTOWN -- Paris Presbyterian Church, located at 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, will be holding a Valentine's dinner concert in the fellowship hall on Feb. 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Dinner will include rigatoni and meatballs with salad, bread and dessert. Music will be provided by Winding Road, who will be playing jazz standards and modern favorites.
There is no charge; however, donations will be accepted to cover the cost of the event.
Weirton Legion hosting dance,
quarter auction in February
WEIRTON -- The American Legion Post 10, located at 3140 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton, has two special events on the calendar for February, both of which are open to the public, according to post Commander Ron Haggerty.
There will be a Valentine's Day dance on Feb. 12 featuring the band Twice As Nice. They will be performing from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There is a $5 cover charge.
On Feb. 27, the Legion will be holding a quarter auction with the doors opening at 12:30 p.m. The auction starts at 1:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 which inc ludes one paddle. Additional paddles are $1 each, up to four. Food will be available, and there will be a Chinese auction.
UMWA Local No. 1304
scheduled to meet Saturday
HOPEDALE -- The United Mine Workers of America Local No. 1304 will meet on Saturday at the Hopedale American Legion, located at 48225 Rabbit Road, Hopedale. Breakfast is at 9:30 a.m., and the meeting begins at 10 a.m.
Postponed MLK program
rescheduled for Feb. 19
WEIRTON -- The performance of "Martin Luther King Jr: A Dream Deferred. A Prophet Ignored," which had been scheduled for Jan. 17 at the Dunbar Recreation Center, has been rescheduled for 7 p.m., Feb. 19.
It was postponed because of inclement weather.
