Monique Sammut and Anthony Desany from the Sycamore Youth Center in Steubenville spent the morning of Valentine's Day delivering 175 bundles containing a blanket, toiletries, a winter hat, a snack and a card to Dixon Health Center in Wintersville, top photo, being presented to two facility representatives, and the Eastern Ohio Correction Center on state Route 43, Wintersville. They were able to personally hand out bundles to some of the residents at Dixon's, "who were so surprised and happy to be remembered. A few of them mentioned how grateful they were for the items that were included in each pack," Sammut noted. "Winter can be such a lonely and dreary time, and it is especially difficult to be forgotten on Valentine's Day. We were grateful, blessed and humbled to be able to spread some joy to those us and to remind them that they are not alone and certainly not forgotten," Sammut said, adding, "This outreach would not be possible without the generosity and support of all who donated to our winter 2021/2022 bundles."
