STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced that the following programs and activities have been scheduled at its various locations, including:
Main Library, (740) 282-9782
Children: Stop by the library to view artwork by third-grade students at Wells Academy of Steubenville City Schools.
On March 17 stop in anytime to make a craft.
A family movie will be screened on March 19 at 2 p.m. Call to register and find out what's playing.
Teens: Make a craft to take home during a visit at the library on March 14 at 5 p.m.

Children: Pick up a Grab-and-Go St. Patrick's Day craft on March 17.
Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch, (740) 769-2090
Children: Take your baby (birth to age 2) to Babygarten on March 17 at 11:30 a.m. This lap-sit program involves books, songs and rhymes to help with language development and other early literacy skills. Registration is not required.
Make a craft to take home during a library visit on March 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Adults: Book club will meet for discussion of "The Reading List" by Sara Nisha Adams on March 15 at 10 a.m. Call to join.
Furry friends are welcomed to the library on March 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a Puppy Parade. Register your dog by March 22. All dogs must be on a leash for the parade that will begin at 2 p.m. The Jefferson County Humane Society will be on site so visitors can meet adoptable dogs, learn about volunteer opportunities and discuss donation items needed for the shelter. There will be contests, prizes and treats for all dogs.

Adults: Visit the library March 16-30 to view artwork created by students from Stanton Elementary of Edison Local School District.
On March 15 at 6 p.m., author Marty Gitlin will present "The Sporting Events that Changed America." "This enlightening and enjoyable program will entertain and illuminate sports fans or anyone interested in American history," a library spokesperson noted. It is hosted by Martin Gitlin and is based on his highly acclaimed book titled "Powerful Moments in Sports: The Most Significant Sporting Events in American History."
The program features videos of sporting events through more than 100 years that greatly impacted society and/or the sports themselves. Included are the sale of Babe Ruth to the Yankees that kicked off the greatest dynasty in American sports history, Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the 1958 NFL Championship Game that brought pro football into prominence, the famed "Battle of the Sexes" between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs and the Magic Johnson-Larry Bird rivalry that brought the NBA back to life.
