STEUBENVILLE -- Jefferson County 4-H had "a fantastic performance" from many of its youth during the Iron Chef competition held March 26 at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School.

This marked the first year for the event to an in-person one as last year's edition was conducted through Zoom, according to officials.

Teams were asked to make dishes from the main ingredient -- citrus, which could be oranges, lemons, limes, blood oranges, grapefruit, etc. The categories where appetizers, main dish and dessert.

The competition was for 4-H who are 8 or in third grade up 18-years-old. Cloverbuds -- 5- to 8-year-olds in second grade -- smoothies, all citrus related.

The Iron Chef competition is one of the main activities offered through the 4-H, which is open to youth ages 5 to 18. For general information or for information on becoming a member, call (740) 264-2212.
