2 min read

The Jefferson County Christian School Art Department is running its 2022 art festival involving students in grades three through 12. More than 275 works are hung in the building in four areas -- the cafeteria, multi-purpose auditorium and the two main-floor hallways. The works can be viewed by the public through Tuesday during school hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Ribbons are on all the works, juried by three of the following six artist/jurors: Jeanne D'Anniballe, Judy Schmidt, Paula Siebieda, Jim Watson, Robert Watson II and Nancy Wright. Several students were selected by art teacher Gina Judy for various exhibits this past semester held online by the Ohio Art Education Association on its website. Noah Truax, standing left, eighth grade, holds his watercolor face accepted into the state Young People's Art Exhibit and an oil pastel created by seventh-grader Albert Jones which was in the state Youth Art Month Exhibition. The Region East Youth Art Exhibition opens online on May 28 and will feature, center, back row, scratchboards by Paige Arbaugh, grade 11; and Jacob Crosby, back right, grade 8; and seated, left, Elizabeth Meneely, grade 10; and Collette Downs, right, grade 11. A mixed-watermedia city, seated center, will be featured by senior Rebecca Downs. — Contributed
