The Tri-State Winemaker's Club met May 12 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Steubenville with 15 in attendance. The business meeting was followed with a dinner of tacos provided by Okey and Sondra Nestor and Bill and Elizabeth Shipe for a late Cinco de Mayo celebration. Other members provided side dishes, desserts and everyone's homemade wine. The club had a wine-tasting in April, the first since the start of the pandemic. It was sponsored by the Weirton Lions Club and hosted by the Weirton American Legion post. The club is exploring opportunities for future wine tastings and tasting events at local wineries and is encouraging members to bring friends who are interested in making wine to the meetings. The club will be providing a wine-tasting for the Wellsburg Elks Club in Wellsburg on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The club's next meeting will be held at the Garden Grill in Weirton. Regular meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, located at 300 S. Fourth St., Steubenville.
