Crew House Museum open house features wedding gowns
RICHMOND -- The Richmond Community Historical Society will kick off the first in a series of open houses with a special display of old wedding gowns, accessories and photos.
Area residents are welcome to visit the Crew House Museum at 34 W. Main St., Richmond, from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, according to Sandy Judy, secretary.
The special display is courtesy of historical society member Hope Eimer, who will serve as one of the open house hosts Sunday.
Admission to the museum is free with donations welcomed. Summer open houses will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Sunday of June, July and August.
The museum features a variety of town memorabilia and includes a second floor dedicated to Jefferson Union High School items of interest. Various items are available for purchase, including Richmond pottery mugs and history books.

Community craft and yard sale
scheduled June 18 in Weirton
WEIRTON -- A community craft and yard sale is being planned for June 18 at Evangel Baptist Church, located at 204 Colliers Way, Weirton.
The hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be quilted items, sewn items, rustic signs and flower arrangements with tables of yard sale items as well as the craft sales.
Vendors are welcomed to be part of the sale. A table rental is $10. Call (304) 914-6542 for information.
Brooke library's book club scheduled to meet June 30
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library's Book Club will meet in person and virtually to discuss Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "Unpunished: A Mystery," at 5 p.m. on June 30.

Art class Wednesday involves painting on DiCarlo's pizza box
WEIRTON -- The Top of WV Arts Council and Summit Art Gallery, 3539 Main St., Weirton, is hosting an art class on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Class participants will paint on their own original Mario DiCarlo's pizza box. The boxes will be wired and ready to hang. The class is $25 with all materials included. All skill levels are welcome to participate, and there will be several artists on hand to assist.

The classes constitute the gallery's main fundraiser to give back to the community by promoting the arts, according to a spokesperson. A student art room under development will showcase the works of local young artists year-round.
ADK chapter makes donations,
announces scholarship winner
WINTERSVILLE -- The Ohio Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher's Sorority met June 7 at Zalenski's Restaurant in Wintersville for a luncheon meeting.
President Linda Lenzi presided, and Chaplain Pam Fithen offered the prayer before the luncheon was served. Secretary Joyce Cammilletti called the roll and distributed minutes of the last meeting, which were approved as presented.
Altruistic Chairman Kathy Henry announced that she will collect the members' volunteer hours in the fall. The club will send money to the Indian Creek and Toronto food banks this summer. Members voted to send money to the Friendship Room in December. The club will sell mums in September as a fundraiser.
Peggy Pyle is continuing to work on a book of members' "favorite" trips. She will have it ready in the fall and will distribute a copy to each member.
The winner of the Chapter Ohio ADK Scholarship for this year is Kaydence Taylor of the Harrison Hills School District.
The September meeting will be held at a location, date and time to be announced.

WEIRTON -- The Weir High Class of 1967 will be meet on June 16 at noon at Nana's, located at 390 American Way, Weirton.
