Weirton Senior Center lowers age limit for membership
WEIRTON -- The Greater Weirton Senior Center, located at 3425 Main St., Weirton, is opening its membership to younger people now.
Those 50 and older are now eligible to become a part of the center and its many activities, according to Tammy Margetic, center director. Annual dues are $25 per person or $40 for a couple.
The center is continuing to host dances on the first Friday of the month, with the next one scheduled for July 1. The dances are held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The cost of $5 includes food and punch and live music. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish to share. On June 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the center will be hosting its monthly bake sale, rummage sale and book sale that is open to the public.

Community craft, yard sale
is scheduled for Saturday
WEIRTON -- A community craft and yard sale is scheduled for Saturday at Evangel Baptist Church, 204 Colliers Way, Weirton.
The hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will include quilted items, sewn items, rustic signs and flower arrangements. There will be tables of yard sale items as well as the craft sales. Vendors are encouraged to join. Table rental is $10 For information, call (304) 914-6542.
STEUBENVILLE -- Urban Thrift, which is located at 236 N. Seventh St., Steubenville, in the Seventh Street Plaza and is operated by Urban Mission Ministries, has launched its online store.
"If you've been to Urban Thrift lately," the mission's June newsletter notes, "you know that not a day goes by when we don't have something new or interesting or quirky for sale. We are blessed with a steady stream of donations, and it's always fun to surprise our customers with ever-changing merchandise," the news item continues.
