Aug. 6 is the date for Buckeye North Huskies all-class reunion
BRILLIANT -- The Buckeye North Huskies all- class reunion will be held Aug. 6 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Brilliant park next to the Wells Township pool.
The event is BYOB with snacks provided as well as chicken dinners by Big C Barbecue. Music will be provided by a DJ.
Being celebrated are the Class of 1977's 45-year reunion; the Class of 1982's 40-year reunion; and the Class of 1987 35-year reunion.
Bergholz Area Museum
having open house on Sunday
BERGHOLZ -- The Bergholz Area Museum will be open Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. with Indian artifacts being featured.
Three special artifacts from the Adena Mound are included.
The museum's permanent collection includes history related to area businesses, schools, mines and the surrounding communities in Jefferson County.
The museum is located at 268 Second St., Bergholz, next to the Bergholz Diner.
Admission is free.
SHS Class of 1959 planning
July 20 luncheon meeting
STEUBENVILLE -- The Steubenville High School Class of 1959 met June 15 for the monthly luncheon at Froehlich's Classic Corner in Steubenville.
Norina Eroshevich gave the blessing, and a moment of silence was observed for Lee Johnson, who recently died.
The next meeting will be held July 20 at Froehlich's Classic Corner, beginning at 12:30 p.m. For reservations, contact Eroshevich at (740) 219-2234. All are welcome.
East Springfield Community Center having dinner Thursday
EAST SPRINGFIELD -- The East Springfield Community Recreation and Service Center will host a fundraiser dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.
The menu will be spaghetti with a salad bar, bread, desserts and a drink. The cost is $9. Patrons can dine in or get take-out. The phone number is (740) 543-3700.

Christmas in July sale set for
Saturday at area museum
STEUBENVILLE -- The Pleasant Hill School House Historical Museum, located at 3125 state Route 213, Steubenville, will hold its Christmas in July sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to shop "for beautiful Christmas decorations and help support our museum," a spokesperson noted.
Those who wish to donate Christmas items for the sale can bring them to the museum on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pottery Addition VFD hosting
chicken dinner fundraiser
POTTERY ADDITION -- The Pottery Addition Volunteer Fire Department will host a chicken roast dinner fundraiser on Saturday.
The dinner will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until sold out. Patrons can dine in or get takeout. The cost is $12 per plate and includes half a roasted chicken, potato salad, green beans, a roll, drink and dessert.
The fire department is located at 448 Kingsdale Road, Steubenville.
Mingo Knights of Columbus plan car cruise for Friday
MINGO JUNCTION -- The Mingo Junction Knights of Columbus Council 4361, located at 117 Legion Drive, Mingo Junction, will be the site of a car cruise on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
There is a $10 car registration fee. Trophies and door prizes will be awarded with car tags to the first 50 entrants.
The fundraiser will include food and live music by Anthony Bailey of Movin and Groovin Productions.
Church fundraiser dinner on July 23 to benefit mission trip
WINTERSVILLE -- A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 23 at Wintersville Community Chapel, located at 27 N. Ward Drive, Wintersville.
The meal includes spaghetti, bread, salad, drink and dessert. The cost is $8 for an adult meal and $3.50 for a meal for a child age 8 and younger. Meatballs are 50 cents each. Patrons can eat in or get carryout.
Proceeds benefit a mission trip to Zambia, Africa.
Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church
offering Food Truck Party VBS
WEIRTON -- The Food Truck Party Vacation Bible School hosted by Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church, 139 Gilson Ave., Weirton, will welcome children in grades kindergarten through six "to get on a roll with God for one of summer's biggest parties."
It will be held at the church from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 25-29. There is no cost.
Each evening, children -- the "chefs" -- will enjoy daily snacks from local food trucks, do crafts, conduct science experiments, enjoy music and learn Bible stories.
"This VBS invites children to pray as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:11; 'Give us this day our daily bread,'" a spokesperson explained. "These words serve as a reminder that everything we have comes from God -- and that it's by turning to God in prayer that all of our daily needs are met," the spokesperson added.
Parents or guardians are requested, but not required, to register their child online at chapelhill.mycokesburyvbs.com. Registrations will be taken at the door, too.
