Leaders of Toronto American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary recently held a Chinese auction to support veterans in nursing homes, hospitals and other medical facilities as well as local veterans with special needs. Among its organizers were, from left, Goldie Litva, chaplain; Linda Leasure, treasurer; Mary Ballato, secretary; and Mary Dacko, president; and back, Barbara Rhodes and Connie Anderson, sergeant of arms. They said the community was very supportive of that event and their recent Poppy Day campaign and welcome new members.
