Saddle club meeting Tuesday and final show on Sunday

RICHMOND -- The Steubenville Saddle Club, which is marking its 75th anniversary year, will wrap up its four-show 2022 season Sunday.

The club grounds located at 8675 state Route 152 N., Richmond, will host the final installment. Open shows begin at 9 a.m. and consist of halter and showmanship, driving, English equitation and pleasure, Western horsemanship and pleasure, ranch pleasure, trail and contesting, the latter of which does not begin before 3 p.m.

In addition to Sunday show, there are two remaining "Saturday Night Lights" fun shows scheduled at the club grounds, both beginning at 6 p.m. The dates for those are Sept. 24 and Oct. 22.

All shows are open to the public, and there is a concession stand.

The club will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the club grounds.

Brooke Hills Park to hold scarecrow contest Sept. 11-14

WELLSBURG -- Brooke Hills Park is inviting area residents to help it decorate the park with creative scarecrows as part of a contest to be held Sept. 11-14.

The park is seeking scarecrows that are whimsical, humorous, traditional, lovable and even mischievous, but not offensive or frightening.

Creators must provide all materials for their entries, which will be displayed on an assigned pole. Set-up will begin Sunday and the entries must be completed by Sept. 13, with entries to be judged on Sept. 14 for overall display, creativity of materials used, originality and compliance with rules.

Brooke High School Class

of 1986 to hold reunion

WELLSBURG -- The Brooke High School Class of 1986 will hold a reunion at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at Brooke Hills Park's Bald Eagle Shelter (across from the pool).

The cost is $30 per person, which includes food provided by Riversmoke BBQ, a local food truck; beer and soft drinks. Attendees may bring other alcoholic beverages.

Music will be provided by Music Done Knicely. The class photo will be taken at 7 p.m.

Brooke Library to show 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' on Thursday

Community Relations Network to videoconference Tuesday

WEIRTON -- The Brooke-Hancock Family Resource Network's Community Relations Network will meet by videoconference at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The group is comprised of representatives of various agencies and community members who discuss action to address various local issues.

Weir Class of 1970 resumes dinner meetings Wednesday

WEIRTON -- Members of the Weir High Class of 1970 will resume their monthly dinners with the September gathering happening Wednesday at 6 p.m.

This month's dinner will be held at Gee's Pub, located at 1229 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton.

All classmates and spouses are invited.
