plans Autumn Fest Sept. 24,

indoor yard sale Saturday

STEUBENVILLE -- Agape Church Worship Center at 1310 Maryland Ave., Steubenville, is planning for its second-annual Autumn Fest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 24, taking it to the streets of the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue.

The festivities will include hayrides from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., food, a 50-50 drawing and vendors, which continue to be recruited.

Vendors wanted include food trucks, crafts, baked goods, antiques, home goods, independent sales and distributors. Venders must provide their own tents, tables and chairs. A booth spot is $25 with a multi-spot discount available. For reservations and information, contact Pastor Lorris Copeland at (740) 219-2667.

The church will have an indoor yard sale from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. It will feature a variety of items.

Kiwanis accepting orders for boxed roses through Sept. 15

STEUBENVILLE -- Steubenville Kiwanis Club members are continuing to take orders for a dozen long-stemmed boxed roses for $20 as part of their key annual fundraiser.

Orders will be accepted through Sept. 15 for a variety of colors that are are available but can't be guaranteed. The fundraiser continues to be limited to local sales only, with no mailouts as done in past years.

The roses will be delivered Sept. 20 to the Steubenville, Wintersville, Mingo Junction, Toronto, Richmond, Brilliant, Weirton, Follansbee and Wellsburg areas.

Orders can be placed through any club member or by contacting Tom Timmons, club treasurer, by phone at (740) 314-9574 or by e-mail to timmons@wesbanco.com. Proceeds help the service organization fund community and youth projects.

Evening storytime sessions

at Brooke County Library

WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library will hold an evening storytime with Kim Harless at 5 p.m. Sept. 14.

It will include the story "Larry Gets Lost In the Library," a craft and snacks. An evening storytime with Harless also will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 15.

It will include the story "The Dot" and hands-on activities to celebrate National Dot Day.

Tiltonsville parish hosting fundraiser chicken dinner

TILTONSVILLE -- St. Joseph Parish, Tiltonsville, will sponsor a fundraiser chicken dinner from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 18 at St. Joseph Church Hall, 204 Mound St., Tiltonsville.

Patrons can dine in with carryout or curbside available. For curbside, enter the alley behind the parish center and exit by the rectory garage.

For a $12 donation, the meal includes a roasted one-half chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and a roll. Beverages cost $1 each. Desserts will be sold as well. There will be 50/50 tickets available in addition to drawings for baskets. tickets for those are $1 each or six for $5.
