Steubenville High School's Class of 2002 celebrated its 20-year reunion on Sept. 10 with an Impact Award ceremony to honor past educators. The event was held at Eastern Gateway Community College and catered by Ms. Brenda's Cafe. Award recipients and students shared personal reflections and gratitude. Brenda Anderson, a Spanish teacher honored at the award ceremony, said, "This was the first time in my career that I felt like I made a difference." Charlie Keenan, superintendent of Maple Heights in Cleveland, traveled here to accept his award. Current Superintendent Melinda Young also was in attendance and received an Impact Award for her years as a leader in the Steubenville City Schools District. Class of 2002 President Davina Ware led the event with the help of her executive committee board that included Lew Smith, John Lester, Jeff Weisburger, Jenna Bryan and Ashley Martin. Other Impact Award recipients who could not attend were Sandra Miller, Joseph Nocera, Beverley Budash, Sara Carrocci, Vickie Littlejohn, Dawn Takach, Julie Blanton, Ross Ivkovich, Ted Gorman, Lynnett Gorman, Reno Saccoccia, Anthony Pierro, Joseph Yanok and Linda Yanok.
