Center dinner is Thursday

EAST SPRINGFIELD -- The East Springfield Community Recreation and Service Center will host a fundraiser dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.

The menu will be baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dessert and a drink. Patrons can dine in or get take-out. The phone number is (740) 543-3700.

The cost is $10.

The center is located on county Road 39 next to the East Springfield Volunteer Fire Hall.

Let's Fight Together fundraiser set for Oct. 22 in Richmond

RICHMOND -- Let's Fight Together will be holding a fundraiser on Oct. 22 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Glenn Mills Senior Community Center, located at 7576 state Route 152 S., Richmond.

It will feature soup, sandwich and a drink by donation. There also will be drawings, a bake sale and a jerky sale.

All proceeds go to support kidney dialysis patients.

Pleasant Hill VFD to host

two food trucks Thursday

STEUBENVILLE -- The Pleasant Hill Fire Department at 3297 state Route 213, Steubenville, will have the presence of two food trucks on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of a fundraiser.

On hand will be Desperado Dogs and the Ice Cream Island. A portion of the proceeds will go the fire department.

'Where the Crawdads Sing,'

'Lightyear' at Brooke Library

WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library will show the PG-rated Disney film, "Lightyear" at 5 p.m.Thursday and the PG-13 rated film, "Where the Crawdads Sing," based on the novel of the same name, at noon on Friday.

'The Midnight Library' topic for Oct. 27 book club meeting
