Nov. 1 last meeting of 2022 for retired teachers organization
STEUBENVILLE -- The last meeting of the year for the Jefferson County Retired Teacher Association will be held on Nov. 1 at the Starkdale Presbyterian Church, located at 4600 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville,
The business meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. Luncheon reservations are due Oct. 22 to Ann Wiley.
June Logan, the association's new Northeast Area liaison, will be speaking to members. The Steubenville Crimson Fusion Choir will perform Christmas music. There will be a $50 drawing for one lucky member who is in attendance. Any retired teacher is welcome to join at any time and attend the meetings.
Trunk or treat on Oct. 23 in
Paris Presbyterian Church lot
BURGETTSTOWN -- Paris Presbyterian Church, located at 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, will host a trunk-or-treat in its parking lot on Oct. 23 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend. Everything will be held outside. Cars decorated for the occasion will compete for one of two gas cards given out as prizes.
Church's fall gospel meetings Sunday through Wednesday
WEIRTON -- The Weirton Heights Church of Christ, located at 3169 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton, will conduct its annual fall gospel meetings Sunday through Wednesday, featuring Evangelist Steve Higginbotham.
Raised in Chester, Higginbotham serves as the pulpit minister for the Karns congregation and as an adjunct faculty member of the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies. He has been in full-time ministry since 1984 and has preached at more than 250 gospel meetings and lectureships in 22 states in addition to having taught in 10 mission trips to foreign countries.
The schedule of services and topics are:
– Sunday, 9:30 a.m. Bible class, "How To Be a Better Student of the Bible;" 10:30 a.m. worship, "Out of Exile: Lessons Learned from COVID;" and 6:30 p.m. worship, "Unity in the Midst of Chaos."
– Monday: 7: p.m., "Digital Church: If it was Right Then, Why Not Now?"
– Tuesday: 7 p.m., "Broken but Blessed;" and
– Wednesday: 7 p.m., "The Day Jesus Returned."
