Cross Creek Elementary staff and students dressed up as superheroes in memory of kindergartener Kade Hunter, who died this summer from cancer. School officials said many donned Captain America -- his favorite hero -- and other T-shirts and hats on Oct. 3 in honor of his birthday. The school also had raised more than $771 through a "Caps for Kids with Cancer" campaign in conjunction with Hills Elementary's Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser in September. A total of $2,100 was raised overall with proceeds going to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's cancer research facility.
