William Koch of Dennison, right, is president of the Tuscarawas County Art Guild and also represents as a member of the Steubenville Art Association with his Best of Show win for his painting abstraction at the Tuscarawas Center for the Arts in New Philadelphia during the guild's seventh-annual fall exhibit. Koch won an honorable mention for a second painting mixed-media abstraction. In the 102-piece exhibit, five artists won hold medal awards of excellence from juror Arthur "Skip" Limbach, which included, from left, Paul Hornung, SAA member of Steubenville for his photograph; Gina Judy, SAA member of Richmond for her watercolor painting; and two artists from the New Philadelphia area, Jason Hershberg, for his ink drawing, and Jackie Holan for her marble-sculpture bust. Larry Brandstetter of Monroeville was an award of excellence and honorable mention dual winner for his pen-and-ink pieces. Five silver awards of merit and another honorable- ention were awarded in the competition. Other SAA members participating in the exhibit included Jeanne D'Anniballe of Steubenville, Paula Siebieda of Bellaire and Bob Watson of Weirton. Jeanine Kennedy is the arts center curator. The show runs through Dec. 14 and is located at 461 Robinson Drive SE, New Philadelphia. Koch will be featured at Historic Fort Steuben as an SAA workshop and speaker/presenter on composition come April. The SAA is participating in the Christmas sales of fine art and crafts in the Historic Fort Steuben meeting room.
