ADK Chapter welcomes new member, presents ‘Silver Sister’ award

STEUBENVILLE -- The Ohio Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority held its first meeting of 2023 on Jan. 10 at Malara Hall in Steubenville.
President Linda Lenzi presided and welcomed members.
Members Michele Fabbro and Paula Diorio presented a program on the national parks that they visited on a recent trip. Pictures of the parks visited by the pair last fall were shown to the members.
Peggy Pyle, world understanding chairman, named the 10 top parks in the world, two of which are in the United States.
Susan Nolan, past state president, presented information on the bus trip available to take members from this area to the 75th anniversary convention of ADK that will be held in Kansas City in July. She invited all members to attend.
Fabbro received flowers and an award for becoming a "Silver Sister" of ADK.
Money was collected for Coats for Kids and a donation was collected to assist the son of an ADK sister in Ohio who lost everything in a house fire.
Vicki Nurczyk was accepted and initiated into the sorority. Those participating in the ceremony were Pyle, Lenzi and Fabbro.
The sorority's next meeting will be held Feb. 7 at at Malara Hall in Steubenville, beginning at 6 p.m.
