Various activities, programs announces at library branches

STEUBENVILLE -- Various activities and programs are available at the branches of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County, including the following:

Main Library, (740) 282-9782

Children: Story Hour for children ages 2 to 6 will be on Thursdays, Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 3 p.m. Register by calling the library.

Adults: Drop by for a low-impact Tai Chi class on Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. Registration is not required.

Adena Branch, (740) 546-3782

Children: Kids ages 5 to 10 will enjoy Story Time at the library on Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Make a Valentine's Day craft on Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. Registration in advance.

It's Take Your Child to the Library Day on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. Join us for stories and to make a bookmark. Participants are asked to register.

Adults: Do you have any gently used puzzles you no longer want? Take them to the library to swap with someone else on Jan 30 anytime from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Adults: Book Club will meet on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. to discuss "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens.

Children: Start off February with a Grab-and-Go Craft. Pick up a bag that contains materials to make a bird mobile while supplies last.

On Feb. 1 take a Grab-and-Go Story Time home. The bag will include the book "Feathers for Lunch" by Lois Ehlert.

Kids ages 5 to 10 will enjoy Story Time at the library on January 31 at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Teens: Take home supplies to make a mini bird feeder in February's Grab-and-Go bag beginning Feb. 1. They're available while supplies last.

During the month of February, visit the teen area and contribute to the Black History Month collaborative poster. Each teen who visits fills in a square to complete the poster.

Adults: Book Club will meet to discuss "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness on Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. Call to join.

Children: Tot Time starts in February. Take your children, ages 2 to 4, for stories, songs and rhymes. Registration is not required. It is Mondays at 4 p.m. on Feb. 6, 13, and 27; Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 7, 14, and 28; Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, 8, and 15.

Children ages birth to 4 are invited to Play and Learn where they will play with toys that promote letter knowledge. It's offered on Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m.

Adults: The Thriller Book Club will meet on Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. to discuss "What Happened in the Bennetts" by Lisa Scottoline. Join by calling the library.

Children: Tot Time will be on Feb. 2 and 16 at 11 a.m. Tot Time includes stories and songs for children ages 2 to 4 along with their parent or caregiver. Registration is required.
