Eastern Gateway Community College will be partnering with Give Kids A Smile to host free
dental clinic on March 2 and 3
STEUBENVILLE -- Eastern Gateway Community College is partnering with Eastern Ohio Dental Society to hold its annual Give Kids A Smile event to conduct a dental clinic for youth in the Steubenville and surrounding areas on March 2 and 3.
"We're really excited to be able to partner with Give Kids A Smile to provide no cost dental care to kids in the Steubenville area," said Michael Geoghegan, Eastern Gateway Community College president.
"According to the American Dental Association and CDC, the most common chronic disease of childhood in the United States is dental decay," Geoghegan said. "At Eastern Gateway, we strive to provide opportunities for success for our students, but that mission doesn't stop when class is over. By teaming with Give Kids A Smile we are able to provide a critical service to kids and give back to our community."
The dental clinic will be held at the school located at 4000 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, in room 1500.
Give Kids A Smile is a national movement through which free dental health services are provided by student, faculty and volunteer dental professionals. Children up to the age of 12 will receive dental cleanings, exams, X-rays, fluoride treatments and fillings at no cost.
To reserve an appointment, call the dental clinic at the college at (740) 266-9690 and leave a message. Clinical Director Tammy Graham will return the call to schedule an appointment.
